I am an Edinburgh based artist where I studied illustration and Graphic design for three years while also painting to then creating my own style of modern portrait. I have drawn since a young age, portrait being the style of drawing I come back to and feel most comfortble with. Once I find an emotion and an expression I want to convey I try to allow everything else to flow. I love working with mixed media such as lace fabric, paper collage and pressed flowers next to the portraits, as they add a touch of uniqueness and vibrancy to each piece. I like to create each artwork with a certain boldness and inner strength and that will uplift, bring hope and comfort. My affection for the natural world pops up in many of my portraits, nature being a powerful healer and brings a touch of mysticism and magic. Nature brings the portrait more alive and tells a story without words.
